Forest Oil Corporation (Forest) is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids in North America. As of December 31, 2011, Forest's total estimated proved oil and gas reserves were approximately 1,904 billions of cubic feet equivalents. As of December 31, 2011, approximately 97% of Forest's estimated proved oil and gas reserves were in the United States. Forest's core areas consist of a portfolio of tight-gas sands, carbonates, and shale plays with multiple stacked-pay opportunities in the United States that have exposure to oil, natural gas liquids, and natural gas. On September 30, 2011, Forest distributed, or spun-off, the Company's remaining 82% ownership in Lone Pine. Effective January 1, 2013, the Company sold its properties in South Texas. In November 2013, the Company closed its sale of properties in the Texas Panhandle Area.
