Belgian Base Month Electricity Futures are traded on the European Energy Exchange. Each contract is for electricity calculated on the basis of the factors of the number of delivery days in the delivery period and the quantity of electricity to be delivered daily. This quantity usually amounts to 24 MWh, onn the day of the switch from winter time to summer time it amounts to 23MWh, whereas on the day of the switch from summer time to winter time it amounts to 25MWh of Belgian Base Month Electricity. Prices are quoted in Euro cent per MWh.
Belgian Base Month Electricity Futures contracts exist for the months of January (F), February (G), March (H), April (J), May (K), June (M), July (N), August (Q), September (U), October (V), November (X) and December (Z). The deliverable product for the Belgian Base Month Electricity Futures contract is Electricity with a constant rate of 1 MW into the Belgian high volt-age grid during the time from 00:00am to 12:00pm on every delivery day during the delivery month.
